New Prints Available from Artist Chuck Rosenthal

Rosenthal’s beautiful canvasses of light dancing on seascapes, still life, landscapes and people have been a desireable addition for any home or office for some time. But not everyone could afford to pay for an original.

But now there is good news for those of us on a budget. Mr. Rosenthal is offering giclee prints of his beautiful pastel paintings for a small part of the price of the originals.

A giclee is the highest quality of fine art prints you can buy. Here’s a little information on the word and the process. The word comes from a French word that means “spray.” Pronounce it “gee-clay” as it would be in French. The process used in reproduction is ink jet, but the quality results from three things - 1) care taken so that the digital image is exactly matching the original, 2) archival non-fading inks used, in 8 color cartridges and 3) printing on high quality acid-free watercolor paper or canvas.

However, since it is a reproduction, not an original, it becomes more available for the rest of us that didn’t figure in several thousand dollars in our financial planning for the purchase of artwork. Hooray!

Mr. Rosenthal has made available many of his pastel paintings in giclee reproductions. The still life is grapes and apples, but more importantly it is a play of light in yellows, light greens and oranges that is a feast for the eye. The contrasting dark background and the contrast of the smooth grapes and apples against the rough cloth they lie on is very pleasing scene for any room.

Since Mr. Rosenthal is a resident of Clearwater, Florida, one assumes that the beaches in his seascapes are nearby, but they could be any of numerous Gulf beaches. Tranquility and joy of children and their parents wading in the shallow Gulf waters, with the long shadows of the sunset stretching out behind them makes you wish to be there.

One painting is most obviously Clearwater. The light of a beautiful Clearwater morning sky leaves the old drawbridge and causeway to Clearwater Beach in blue shadow while the water reflects bright light and colors.

Now that Rosenthal’s paintings are available in easily affordable giclees, you may want to purchase more than one for your walls. Any of them would be a fine addition to home or office.
