Creating A Wall To Remember
Back in the day people would have wallpaper or even wood paneling in their homes on the walls. These days you can take it to another level by adding fabric and many different color options of paint. Many individuals will now be creative when painting their walls and also add their own art pieces into the theme on the walls. You will have to be brave if you are someone whom isn’t into the colored walls rather than creams and whites.
The pieces you place on your walls can be anywhere from stencils to abstract art. If you feel you can’t do anything but paint a wall one color, be creative and try. It won’t take much money to create a unique texture on the walls and it will make your own personality come out in the room. Just think of it as one way to express yourself without actually having to say anything.
Many homes have that one large wall where you wonder what you could do with it. You could leave it bare or wallpaper it, or even a stencil of your choice. If you want the rooms to be full of life why not consider wall art? A great option is to purchase cheap cookbooks that you don’t mind tearing pages out of. They don’t have to be ripped perfect so if you have a child, have them rip them out of the book. They can be torn or even ripped in half, but you’ll still be able to use them.
With these pages you should make a cool looking collage putting them in different ways on the wall. You can put these pages up with tape on the back or glue will even work. One you have these up you will see how interesting the wall looks, and it’s your unique design!
The last step is to cover up your wall with something that will save the paper from getting old due to time. Get a piece of plexiglass, you want to measure your wall, and take off two inches from the measuring, have it cut to that size. Place the plexiglass on the wall, leaving an inch uncovered on the top and bottom. Now you can use nails or screws to old the glass up in place. Those nails or screws can simply be covered up by a nice wood trim that you put up on the wall.
Add a final touch to the room, put a rug by the wall, and make sure it has some of the colors that are in the collage too. Or if you have done your kitchen wall, put the rug under the table, and in another area, not only will it make the room look better, but it will also leave less floor left open to be mopped.
This wall will now resemble a shining piece of art that truly sets off and brings life to the kitchen. This same idea can be used in children’s rooms where pages from comic books or fairytale books could be used. A library or den could have famous pages from literature. A family room could use family photos instead of book pages. The possibilities are endless!
