Everyone knows that the crib is the most important thing in the nursery, but it is the baby bedding that makes the crib look amazing. Finding the right crib can be much easier online.
Not everyone will agree on which bedding set is the best. Keep in mind, though, that crib bedding can get pretty expensive, and the set you adore may cost more than you can afford. So before you start your search, try to have an idea of the theme and price range you’re looking for.
When deciding what style of bedding to buy, think carefully about the future of your family - are you planning to have more kids? For instance - are you having a girl? But you’re not guaranteed to have another girl, and that girly baby bedding is not going to look so great in a boy’s nursery. With the high cost of baby bedding, unless you have a big budget, it’s much smarter to pick a gender neutral bedding set that you can use again and again.
A bedding set can cost upwards of $1000, so set a budget before you start and stick to it. Ignore any bedding that is out of your budget. Everyone want the nursery to look cute, but remember that it’s not your room. It belongs to your baby and babies just want a warm, comfortable place to sleep.
Baby stores, even the large ones like Babies R Us, usually can’t offer the range of choices that an online-only store can, particularly when the ecommerce site is strictly focused on selling baby bedding.
For example, while a web store may have 20, 30 or even more brands to choose from, most offline stores carry only a couple of brands. Some only have one. Even if you’re shopping at a big-box discounter, you may find that they can’t match the prices you’ll find online.
But, of course, there are also disadvantages to buying online - the biggest one being that you can’t touch or examine the bedding. So when an online retailer tells you that a bedding set is cuddly, you have no way to verify it. There is just no way for an online retailer to mimic the effect of putting your hands on the bedding set and feeling it for yourself.
It’s easy to get overwhelmed by the massive product selection online, so be sure to plan out what you want ahead of time and stick to your budget!
